Michelle McBride Designs
Michelle’s practice lies between design and applied arts. She receives her main inspiration from architecture as she appreciates the details of the buildings. Michelle enjoys designing complex forms that have been created using origami folds that are then constructed to become her lamp designs. Michelle’s designs are geometric and she loves applying them to her pieces as well as experimenting with different materials such as different weights of papers and glass. She has a passion for laser and plotter cutting and is intrigued by the simplicity of the lines created by these machines. Her work displays the beauty of crisp clean folds alongside stark white spaces.
